Useful recommendations for couples on holiday in Madagascar
An incredible land, unique in the world, due to its extremely rich biodiversity. Madagascar is one of those destinations which is unlike anywhere else in the world, and that is why its renown has been growing to an unbelievable extent in recent years. The big natural parks and the extremely white beaches bathed by crystalline waters are the real calling card for a trip to Madagascar.
A trip to Madagascar
This island nation, located in the Indian Ocean in front of Mozambique and the eastern African coast, is an authentic paradise on earth. Madagascar is part of an archipelago and, in terms of surface area, is the fourth biggest island in the world, formed about 165 million years ago following the separation of the continent. The country’s capital is Antananarivo, and is served by an international airport. A trip to Madagascar necessarily starts here, or at the country’s other main airport, Nosy Be.
A honeymoon in Madagascar
The lush forests, the still uncontaminated beaches and the vast savannahs in the south make this island an enchanting and romantic location in all its atmospheres. This is why so many choose to organise their honeymoon in Madagascar. The nature is the real attraction of the place and here, in the Land of the Baobab Tree, you can fully appreciate all its power. For a special holiday as a couple, there are splendid villages by the sea in Madagascar, complete with all mod cons and facing the wonderful coastlines bathed by the Indian Ocean.
Beaches and locations to visit
The best beaches in Madagascar are on the country’s most famous island, Nosy Be. It is a real jewel, where you can experience all of the location’s African atmosphere. There are breathtaking beaches, like Andilana Beach, Chanty Beach and Ambatoloaka which, together with nearby Ambondrona, is over four kilometres long, giving life to a long oasis of white sand and tropical vegetation.
As well as the sea, in Nosy Be there are ancient fishing villages to visit, where you can get lost in the most authentic culture in Madagascar.
Then there is a place which is so enchanting that it seems to be imaginary: the Avenue of the Baobabs, in the Menabe region. This is an unpaved avenue where 25 Baobab trees rise over the red dusty sand. It’s a truly unique scene, and is considered to be Madagascar’s main “natural monument”.
